Dennis Cottom 53, of Acequia, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023 at home. Dennis was
born May 26, 1970 to Brad Cottom and Murriel Bradshaw Cottom Gallegos.
Dennis worked as a nurse, handy-man, laborer, and on maintenance in plants. Dennis went to college and received certificates in nursing, welding, and driving Hyster. He wrote music, played all kinds of instruments, and did tattoos. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If there was anyone in need, he was always there to help them.
Dennis is proceeded in death by his stepfather John Gallegos, and his grandparents on both sides of the family.
Dennis is survived by his Father Brad Cottom, Mother Murriel Gallegos, brother Anthony (Julie) Cottom, and children Sydnee, Bailey, Tristen, Coey, and Ex-wife Christina Cottom. Son, Dennis Jr. (Kimberly) Cottom and their children Eithen, Avery, Bethany and Gunner. Daughter, Shaylenn (Morgan) Hair. Daughter, Brianne, Son, Shadow Mahcheck Cottom, and his children Ashley and Paisley. Uncle Larry and Aunt Kathy and their families. Aunt Brenda and her children and all their families. Aunt Geri and Uncle Ken Rogers and their children, Cindy and Wally Garza, Dan and Scott Perry, Robert and Jen Rogers and all their children. Uncle Kevin Schneider and his children Kevin Jr., Brittany and her wife Jennifer.
The family would like to thank the Police, County Coroner, Hansen Mortuary, Bishop Cregg Poteet, Spencer Wilson, Annette Hansen, and Ken & Geri Rogers for helping the family.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday 28, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Acequia First Ward chapel. Viewing for family and friends will be held for one hour prior to the services at the church. Services will conclude with burial at the Rupert Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
