Ignacio Ponce Nuñez, age 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 21, 2023 in Rupert ID.

Born in Coeneo de la Libertad Michoacán, Mexico on August 11, 1964 to Arminda Ponce and Jesus Nuñez. He was proceeded in death by his parents Jesus and Arminda Nuñez, sister Juana Nuñez, mother-in-law Maria Elena Farfan, and brother-in-law Joseph Cannon.

He is survived by his wife Rosalba Nuñez, his children Jesus (Bryttanie, Benjamin, Katherine) Nuñez, Fabian (Kayla, Liam, Jace, Mia) Nuñez, Fernando Nuñez, and Isabella Nuñez. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews  and many others who loved him.

When he arrived in Idaho in the early 1980’s, he worked with several local farmers for years and later joined AgriSource where he spent many years and made lifelong friends.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in several capacities of leadership. He loved the people he served and was never too busy to lend a hand no matter who it was.  Nacho, as he was known by all who knew him, worked hard and was active in the community and knew no strangers.  To know Nacho was to love him.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family especially younger kids as he loved to play with them and tease them.  His door was always open to friends and family.  He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, raising various animals, and growing a garden.

One of his greatest passions has always been learning how to fix everything and anything. If it was broken Nacho would most likely figure out how to fix it, nothing was too complicated for him, as he figured it out.

We would love to give a special thank you to the AgriSource family for their support, Nydia Tellez with Hospice Vision for her help and support, the nurses and doctors from the St. Luke's Cancer Institute, and the families involved that helped us best care for Nacho.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 25, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rupert Fifth Ward chapel.
