Date of Service: Feb. 20, 2016

Theodore J. Cameron On February 13, 2016, Assistant Chief Theodore J. Cameron answered his final call surrounded by family at Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert, Idaho. He was born in Rupert, Idaho on May 8, 1958, to John and JoAnn Cameron. He married Donna Gene Lacker on November 22, 1986, in St. Louis, MO. He is survived by his wife; his son, J.D. Cameron of Boise, ID; his daughter, Tedi Cameron of Pocatello, ID; brother, Greg (DanaJo) Cameron, of Rupert, ID; and sister, Tamara Cameron of San Francisco, CA. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his fraternal and maternal grandparents; his mother and father; and two of his uncles.
He graduated from Idaho State University's diesel technology program. He earned his teaching certificate in Professional-Technical Education from the State of Idaho. He grew up working for his grandfather, father and uncle at Cameron Sales, Inc., and most recently taught at Minico High School in the Diesel Technology program. He was so proud of his "boys" and all of their achievements.
For 33 years Ted was a member of Rupert City Fire and Rescue, holding the rank of Assistant Chief. The thrill of getting that call in the middle of the night is what drove his passion, the hotter the fire, the bigger the fire, the better! He loved serving his community and being there for those in need. He made many lasting friendships through his many years in the fire service, and these he held close to his heart.
Ted's proudest achievement was his children. He always was amazed that he was blessed with two of the most perfect children anyone could ask for. He attended every activity they were involved in, from ballet to disc golf and everything in between! He cheered the loudest and longest. His love for his children knew no bounds.
Ted lived life to the fullest! He had a laugh so contagious you couldn't help but smile when you heard it. He loved celebrating the good things in life. It has been lovingly said that he was a hardheaded man with the softest heart and this we know to be true! He will be greatly missed and loved forever.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society for Brain Cancer Research.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Rupert United Methodist Church 605 H St Rupert, Idaho. Services are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary.
