Esquivel
Sep. 18, 1937 - Oct. 25, 2016
Date of Service: Oct. 29, 2016
In loving memory for a life well lived. Jesse G. Esquivel was born in Winters, Texas on September 18, 1937. He was the youngest child of Antonio and Aurelia Esquivel. He spent his early childhood in Hereford, Texas and at the age of 14 began following the migrant stream from Texas to Idaho and many states in between in search of work. In Rupert Idaho he met Vina Arias and in 1957 they were married at St. Nicholas Church in Rupert. They continued to move from state to state following the work available until their daughters entered school. Jesse, with limited formal education, wanted to ensure a better foundation for his daughters and found work at Simplot factory in 1967 and retired from there in 1999.
Jesse enjoyed the outdoors throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing and camping when the family was young. Later he learned to golf and spent much of his time on the golf course. His true passion for singing was revealed later in life. He joined the church choir and spent many hours practicing and learning new songs for various community events.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Richard Esquivel, a sister Minerva Valerio, an infant daughter and 2 grandsons.
He is survived by his wife Vina Esquivel; a brother, Tony Esquivel of Nampa, Idaho; daughters Delia Valdez (John), Judie Gonzales (Lupe) of Rupert, Idaho, June Palmer (Mark) of Garden Valley, Idaho,; five grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Thank you to Countryside Care in Rupert for the care and kindness extended to our father.
