Alfonso Gallegos 75 of Rupert passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at his home due to effects of cancer. Alfonso was born July 7, 1939 in Jamison, Oregon to John and Lala Gallegos. He was married to Iola (Betty) Gallegos for almost sixty years. He resided in Rupert and worked in agriculture all of his life. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Alfonso enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Alfonso is survived by his wife Iola (Betty) Gallegos. Children Allen Gallegos, Wendy Dryden, Cindy (Jon) Call, Robert Gallegos, and Dean Gallegos. Twenty-one Grandchildren, forty-five Great Grandchildren, and Four Great-Great Grandchildren. Brothers Manuel, Tony (Caroline), John (Murriel), Henry, George, Joe (Carla), and Andy. Sisters Rae Archuleta, Rosemary (Orville) Mort, Lilly Gallegos, Dee (John) Martinez, and Anna (Carlos) Villafuerte. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Lala Gallegos. Daughters Karen Gallegos and Aimee Ramirez. Brother Mike Gallegos and sister Geneve Viaz.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Rupert 1st Ward LDS church with Bishop Mark Sanderson officiating. Viewing for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. at The Mortuary and for one hour prior to the services at the church. Services will conclude with burial in the Rupert Cemetery under the direction of Hansen Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Minidoka Home Health and Hospice.
