Josephine Aspiasu Olander, 85, of Heyburn, passed away July 26, 2015, at Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley.
Josephine was born April 8, 1930, in Jerome, Idaho to Juan and Atanasia Gabiola Aspiasu. She married Milton Walter Olander on November 8, 1947, and was sealed for time and all eternity at the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple on November 25, 1958. Mom and Dad lived in Jerome, Idaho for many years, moving to Heyburn, Idaho in 1976. Mom worked for 33 1/2 years at Ore-Ida Foods as the plant nurse. She taught CPR and Red Cross courses for many years. After retiring from Ore-Ida as the nurse, she became the secretary/treasurer for the Credit Union at Ore-Ida for five more years. She volunteered in the snack bar at Park View Care and Rehab for ten years. Mom loved working in her flower gardens and mowing her yard. She just loved being outdoors and just staying busy.
Josephine is survived by her daughter, Rose Ann Heward; grandsons, Erik Olander, Jarod Mazzullo and Jason Heward; great grandchildren, Nikolas Mazzullo, Addyson Heward, and Jaxon Heward; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Walter Olander; Son, Mick Olander; Brother, John Aspiasu; sisters, Mary Lazaro, Tony Llona, Delores Alberdi, and Rosie Arrossa.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at the Jerome Cemetery in Jerome, ID under the direction of Hansen Mortuary.
The family would like to thank all the caring and compassionate nurses and doctors at Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley, Idaho.
Mom and Grandma, thank you for all your love and caring for us. You will be missed so much! We love you!!! So long sweet lady until we see you again!
