PAUL – Laurie Ann Anderson, age 65, of Paul, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Cassia Regional Hospital in Burley.
She was born at the Burley Hospital on October 24, 1960, to Frank Uscola and Donna Hansen. When she was two years old the family moved into Paul, Idaho after building their “forever Uscola” home.
Laurie went to Minico High School and left early to raise her children. She married Frank Gifford and they welcomed four children. Brandon, Cassie, Faith and Tyson. Frank and Laurie later divorced and Laurie found her forever love with Dennis Anderson. Dennis brought two sons into the family, Tony and Daniel. Dennis and Laurie lovingly raised two granddaughter’s, Lexi and Miracle. They adopted Miracle quickly.
Laurie was beyond excited when she completed and received her GED from CSI. It was one of her proudest accomplishments as well as completing the IMPACT program. She was a stay-at-home momma most of her life, so this was huge. She managed Pizza Hut in Rupert where the community fell in love with her.
Laurie loved fishing anywhere and everywhere. “I just want to drown a worm” she'd say. She fished her favorite momma and grandmother’s holes at Henry's Lake and Easley. She loved the mountains and the Oregon Coast. Laurie and Dennis took many long drives through our Idaho mountains and beyond, camping was always a must. She was invited to the Oregon Coast by the Coates family and drug her Saucy along and was drawn immediately to Rockaway Beach. Laurie loved her Green Bay Packers! Win lose or tie, she stayed proud and loyal to her cheeseheads… mostly! (wink wink). Laurie loved her hummingbirds and enjoyed watching them and listening to them chatter. All who knew Laurie knew of her extensive collection of Precious Moments figurines she had collected throughout the years. Dennis and Laurie took a trip to Missouri to the Precious Moments Chapel where they were both overwhelmed with the most peaceful feeling there. Dennis saw these weren’t just figurines but soo much more. Cassie and Faith took her back to the chapel a few years later and will cherish this memory for years to come. Laurie’s love for God and her faith never wavered or dimmed. Through every pain, heartache and the exhaustion, she never blamed God. She instead prayed and she would say “tomorrow will be better” and she said it with faith in her heart every time.
Laurie is survived by her loving husband of almost 18 years, Dennis Anderson; her children, Brandon Gifford of Heyburn, ID, Cassie Hernandez (Guido) of Heyburn, ID, Faith Gifford of Rupert, ID, and Tyson Gifford of Heyburn, ID; bonus children, Tony Anderson (Melissa) of Idaho Falls, ID, Daniel Anderson (Cassy) of Heyburn, ID; and not born into the family but became another daughter, Jessica West of Rupert, ID; her grandchildren, Skyler, Laicey, Josie, Xander (Tay Tay), Lexi, Annie, Grace, Miracle, Madalyn, Aliyah, Hunter, and Quinn; her great-grandchildren, Ally, Ria, Kam, Emmy, Bentley and Hadleigh; her sister, Brenda Coates of Buhl, ID; her half sister, Reva Uscola; her bonus siblings, Trevor, Kara, Kory, Kameron and Kristi; and many nieces, nephews; and friends.
