Genoveva Alvarez, 63 of Paul passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Minidoka Memorial Hospital.

Genoveva was born January 3, 1954 in La Feria, Texas to Juana Salazar and Jesus Alvarez. She was married to Manuel G Rivera Jr. for 23 year. She resided in Texas and Idaho. She was a harvest worker for Patterson's and was a member of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, doing arts and crafts and spending time with family.

Genoveva is survived by her fiancé Ricardo Martinez and Ricky Martinez Jr. who she raised as her own, children Juan Pablo Alvarez, Jesus Ernesto Garza, Erica (Rolando) Izaguirre, Ruben (Michelle) Alvarez, Manuel Rivera III, and Lee Roy (Beatriz) Rivera, 22 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, brother Juan Salazar, and sisters Noemi (Armando) Lopez, and Dora (Mario) Labra. She is preceded in death by her parents Juana Salazar and Jesus Alvarez, brothers Ernesto and Hector Alvarez, granddaughter Klarissa Alvarez Ortega, grandson Abel Alejandro Ortega, and great granddaughters Andres Arceo-Pena III, Kylie and Azalea Garza.

Funeral Mass will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Viewing for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic church with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services.
