Arlen “Rusty” Storey, 83, of Rupert, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital, with his family by his side.
Rusty was born on August 23rd, 1936, in Rupert, ID to William and Florence Storey.
Rusty is survived by his sister Donna Jean Norcom (Stan), son David Storey, son Richard Storey, daughter Susan Storey, granddaughter Bri Hymas (Brennan), grandson Justin Parcells, and four loving great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Rusty was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to everyone.
After graduating from Rupert High School, he served his country in the Air Force for 4 years. He was a proud veteran. Rusty loved sports, especially football. He was the biggest Boise State fan. He loved driving trucks before he retired. He loved his family most of all. His smile was contagious and could light up a room. He cared about things that truly mattered. Rusty was the best Dad in the world. He made you feel so loved and special. We could talk for hours about football, politics, and life in general. He loved to read and kept meticulous notes on everything. He had quotes and notes all over to make you smile. John Wayne was everywhere in his house. He even imitated his voice on his answering machine.
You have touched so many lives Dad. You were such a blessing on this Earth. You are loved and missed by so many. You will always be remembered with a smile and a kind word.
Funeral Services will take place at Hansen Mortuary 710 6th street Rupert, Idaho on January 16 at 11:00 a.m. and for family and friends a viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Hansen Mortuary. Services are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
