Dorothy Charlotte Loveland was born October 19, 1923 to Charles Bertrum Loveland and Vera Jane Davis Loveland in their home on the sand creek farm in Chester, Idaho.
Dorothy was the middle child of four siblings.
She attended schools in Fremont County. Once graduated she attended the Idaho Falls Nurses Training School obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and working the rest of her working life as a register nurse at the Fremont Hospital, Bannock Memorial Hospital, and Cassia Regional Hospital until retirement.
Dorothy was like many people and dated numerous people, she caught the eye of the farm’s milk man. When she attacked him and planted a kiss on him. It took several more years for that seed to germinate due to world war two.
Once Charles Randall Dexter completed his service with the Marine Corps he pursued that girl whom attached him with a kiss. They married May 24, 1946, later being solemnized in the Idaho Fall’s LDS Temple.
Together they raised three children. Dorothy, Larry and Dennis Dexter.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Vera, Sisters Norma Jean Loveland and Cleova Petersen Dexter, brother Jay (Helen) Loveland, daughter Dorothy (John) Dawdy, and grandson Brett Dawdy. She is survived by brother Charles Loveland, and two sons, Larry Alice) Dexter, and Dennis(Dana) Dexter, five grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Grave side service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Riverview Cemetery, St. Anthony, Idaho. Services are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary Rupert ID.
