Lenora Kasworm Obituary
Lenora V. Kasworm died June 6, 2018 at her home in Rupert, Idaho. She was born on February 17, 1923 in Chapman, Nebraska the fourth child and only daughter of John and Clara Seim.
On September 21, 1941 she married Frederick Paul Kasworm in Worms, Nebraska. They took up farming across the road from Fred's dad's farm near Murray, Utah. Their marriage was blessed with four children Pat, Pam, Susan and Wayne.
In 1956 Fred drew a farm through the Veterans Homestead Act and they moved to Idaho in 1957. Fred and Lenora farmed there and raised their family until Fred retired in 1991 and they moved to Rupert. Fred passed away in 2013.
Lenora and Fred were both raised Lutheran and were very active in their church, Trinity Lutheran in Rupert. Lenora was active in the Dorcas Society and a past president. She also led the church kitchen remodeling. While on the farm she was instrumental in organizing the Kasota Sagehens, a ladies homesteaders group.
She was also a leader when her girls were active in 4-H. She and Fred loved golfing and she was a five-time ladies champion at the Rupert Country Club. She loved to garden, especially flowers. She often brought flowers from her yard to her friends at Autumn Haven, an assisted living home in Rupert where she lived the last five years. She enjoyed making quilts for her kids, grandkids and great grandkids making sure everyone got a quilt. She had a new quilt in progress when she passed.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred and her brothers Donald, Alton and Harold. She is survived by her children Pat (Kevin) Ferry, Pam Redington; Susan (Robert) Donnelly; and Wayne (Debe) Kasworm. Her grandchildren include Kathleen (Ed) and Michael, children of Pat and Kevin; Joee Ray (Melanie) and Heather, children of Pam and Joee; and Nicole, Kelley (Chris) and Ryan (Nikkole) children of Susan and Bob. Great Grandchildren include Nicholas, Michaela, Jacob, Robert, Alexa, Keira, Robby, C.J., Ethan (McKenzie) and Abbie. She is also survived by many nieces (Lenora called them her other daughters), nephews and their children. She will be sorely missed by her friends and extended family.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday June 18, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Rupert. Visitation for family and friends will be held for one hour prior to the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Dorcas Society of Trinity Lutheran Church.
