Suzanne Bakelar Obituary

Suzanne West Poulton Bakelar of Declo was surrounded by her loved ones as she passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho.  She was born August 10, 1961 in Burley, Idaho. She was a welcomed addition to Floyd and Florence West. Joining her two older brothers Danny West and Randy West and her sister Sandra Albertson.  She grew up on a farm in Declo where she spent countless hours cutting hay for the cows and standing up trying to reach the pedals of the farm trucks. She attended and graduated Declo High School.  She married Devere Poulton, they had three children Jeremy, Melanie and Barry.  She later married Brad Bakelar and gained two more daughters, Amanda and Quortnie. She enjoyed working in the construction field where she loved operating giant haul trucks, motor graders, challengers, and other heavy equipment. This gave them the opportunity to travel the country.  She loved all the time she was able to spend with their children. Many memories were made with all the kids in beautiful places and they treasure those experiences. She loved coming back home every year to help her brother Danny with harvest.  He could count on her every year to drive truck.  She loved this time of year getting to be home with her kids and family.  She also loved boating, camping, and any time she could spend around the water. Some of her best days were spent with her grandkids going to Lake Cleveland. She had a great love for animals. She spent the last ten years of her life devoted to taking care of her mother Florence.

Suzanne is survived by her three children Jeremy (Cabra) Poulton, Melanie (Cory) Ottley, Barry (Kayla) Poulton and four grandkids Kloie and Landon Ottley, Kynlie and Kennedy Poulton, her mother Florence West and siblings Danny (Janet) West, Randy (Kay) West , and Sandra Albertson.

She was preceded in death by her father Floyd West.

The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks and appreciation to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at St. Luke’s Hospital in Twin Falls for their sincere comfort and care towards our Mom and family.
