Amelia Santacruz Obituary

Amelia Santacruz Olmos, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, returned to her heavenly home on Friday, September 2, 2022. She passed away in Pocatello, Idaho at 66 years old.

Amelia was born December 10, 1955, to Ciriaco Olmos and Maria de Los Angeles Montes in Huáscato, Jalisco. Amelia was a devoted Catholic committed to prayer and her relationship with God. She was a lifelong active member of the Catholic Church and her community. She was a parishioner at St. Nicholas Catholic Church for many years. Amelia’s faith was strong, she was a sweet and caring person. She was always praying; she loved it when we would pray the rosary as a family. She loved to visit Jesus in the Holy Sacrament.  For those that knew Amelia, she was received in the arms of Christ as we know, Mathew 25:21, El patrón le contestó: Muy bien, servidor bueno y honrado; ya que has sido fiel en lo poco, yo te voy a confiar mucho más. Ven a compartir la alegria de tu Senior.

She was very loved by her family and friends. She will never be forgotten and her memory will forever be treasured.

Amelia left behind a detailed journal of her preferences regarding her funeral arrangements and along with her preferences she wrote the following;

"Les pido que no se entristezcan porque el momento tenía que llegar. Vivan alegres por favor y unidos hacia Dios, cumpliendo los mandamientos y amando a cristo Jesús.  A mí cuando me recuerden les pido una oración para que mi alma se alimente de la oración.” Her words of being at peace is what all her loved ones will carry with them forever.

She was not one to ask for help but to deliver it. She never asked for anything except that we maintain our faith and our love for Jesus Christ, along with asking for a prayer when we think of her.

Amelia is survived by her husband, Rafael santacruz and all of their 6 children, Israel Santacruz (Gaby), Carlos Santacruz (Ale), Kenny Santacruz (Mary), Rafael Santacruz (Lilia), Maria Candelaria Llanos (Erick), Hector Santacruz (Gabby); brothers and sisters, Enedino Olmos, Carmen Gomez, Manuel Olmos, Jose Olmos, Brenda Villasenor, and Ruben Olmos; twenty-one grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

From part of her whole family, we would like to thank everyone who has kept us in their prayers during this difficult time. We would like to invite everyone who was touched by her purity and heart of gold to the following.
