Amy Sue Young was born December 23, 1967, in Hollywood, California and was adopted by David and Dora Faux of Pleasant Grove, Utah. Amy grew up in Pleasant Grove and attended school there. She graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1986, then earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University in 1990. She met Raulan Young at Snow College, and they were sealed in the Provo Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on August 10, 1990.
They raised three children in Burley, Idaho where they resided for 28 years. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her children, supporting them through school, church and their many activities. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints faithfully serving in many callings throughout her life. Amy was an accomplished gardener, baker, swim instructor and beloved educator. She left her mark on the community through over 20 years of leadership of the Magic Valley Folk Festival attended by premier dance teams from around the world. She loved serving her community and showed deep love for the students whose lives she touched over her many years as a teacher. She was loved by her students, family, friends and the many people she served.
She is survived by her husband Raulan and their three children Connor (Terra and daughter Celeste) of Austin, TX, Jenna of Logan, UT and Riley (Elizabeth and daughter Ivy) of Vernal, UT; her parents David and Dora Faux, and siblings Craig Faux (Sue), Bard Faux (Diana), Kurt Faux (Christie), Jeff Faux (Kris), and Becky Jacobson (Jeff).
