ANNE BERTHA SANDLIAN
March 16, 1938 – December 21, 2025
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Anne Bertha Sandlian, 87, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, in Burley, Idaho. Anne was born on March 16, 1938, to Eugene David Boyd and Helen Edgehille Boyd in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was the fifth born child of seven children, with four older sisters Natalie, Patricia, Joan, and Eileen, and two younger brothers E. David and Charlie Boyd.
Anne spent the early years of her childhood in Massachusetts. Her family later moved to Idaho when Anne was about 16 years old. Anne met the love of her life Clyde Sandlian while he was on leave from the Air Force, and they were married on July 16, 1958, in Borger, Texas. They went on to have 4 children, Stephen Sandlian, Patricia Orthman, Douglas Sandlian, and James Sandlian, all of whom they raised in Burley, Idaho. Anne and Clyde were happily married for 62 years.
Anne worked at Ore Ida for 25 years where she built many long-lasting friendships. She was a member of the LDS Church, Pella 2nd Ward for 50 years before moving from her country home into town.
Anne was a very generous and kind person, always willing to help anyone in whatever way she could. Whenever someone was sick, she would always help take care of them, always checking in on them and offering comfort and aid. She always remembered the birthdays of every family member and cherished friend in her life, and she always made sure they felt special on their birthdays with a surprise visit, a phone call, a card or a gift.
Anne’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She loved hosting family dinners and gatherings, especially around the holidays. She treasured spending time with all of her grandchildren. She loved having her home filled with the laughter and chaos of all of her grandchildren and often would have all of them together for sleepovers at her home, where she would enjoy ice cream, movies, games and other activities with them., and of course, would treat them to her famous homemade goulash.
Anne is survived by her children Stephen Sandlian of Buhl, ID, Patricia Orthman of Burley, ID, Douglas (Barbara) Sandlian of Paul, ID, and James Sandlian of Burley, ID. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Dwight Sandlian, her father Eugene David Boyd, her mother Helen Edgehille Bates Boyd, her sisters Natalie LeFevre, Joan Irish, Eileen Johnston, and Patricia Giannino, her brothers E. David Boyd and Charles Boyd, and her grandson Daniel Orthman.
