Bonnie Jean West 69 of Heyburn,Idaho, peacefully passed away on July 19 2023at home surrounded by her family. Bonnie was born October 28 1953 in McMinnville Oregon to Richard ”Dick” and Wanda McMurray Lewis. She was the second youngest of five sisters. Bonnie worked in the Food Processing Industry until she became a mom and then all her time was spent making sure her kids were taken care of. She was a kind, caring, and giving person, who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage, strength, and dignity. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. She enjoyed many things in life from just sitting and reading a good romance novel to driving around at night with her sister and niece looking at spooky houses. But what she loved most of all, was the whole family getting together having bbq’s, playing aggravation or telling all of the kids spooky stories to try and scare them. Many people knew her as the cat lady, because every cat in town would always find their way to Bonnie’s house and she would always take care of them.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Richard ”Dick” and Wanda McMurray Lewis Her sisters Joann Lewis, Elaine Pharris, Brenda Wickel, Sherry Rollins, and one brother in-law Verlo Wickel.
She is survived by kids Jeff West, Jennie (Danny) Day, Jason West, Jessica (Luke) Wolfe, Nick Schmidt. Her Grand Kids, Great Grand Kids, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Niece’s, and Nephew’s.
The family would also like to send a special thanks to the staff at Enhabit, for everything they did for their mother.
A celebration of life will be held in Bonnie’s honor at a later date.
