Brent Ronald Hawkes, 64, year old passed away Monday, August 12, 2024 at Primrose Assisted living in St. George, Utah. Brent was born on October 24, 1959 in Rupert Idaho, the son of Glen and Viola (Martsch) Hawkes. He attended Paul Elementary, West Minico JH, and got his GED in Pullman, Washington. Brent grew up on the family farm and dairy. He worked hard from a young age, milking cows, riding horses, driving tractors and doing other chores.

Brent received his Eagle Scout at the age of 14, March of 1974. He was the youngest boy to receive his Eagle for many years in the Paul area. Brent had a passion for dirt bikes and racing motorcycles, when he was older he switched to riding a Harley.

Brent married Kathy Chaffee and they have been together for 27 years. Brent has driven a semi-truck for 40+ years and has covered over 1,000,000 miles. He loved seeing our great country. Brent and Kathy both drove semi-trucks across the country, chasing each other from one place to another. He also loved going RVing and was always planning their next trip before they even finished the current one.

Brent will always be remembered for being a kind-hearted man who always made people laugh. He always had a smile to share. He was known for his cowboy hat and goatee, which he loved being recognized for them.

Brent is survived by his wife Kathy Hawkes of St. George, Utah; His siblings Stanton Glen (Kim) Hawkes of St. George, UT; Melanie (Winn) Oakey of Idaho Falls, ID; Bryon Gene Hawkes of St. George, UT; His nieces and nephews, Jamie (JJ) Hugh family, Justin (Martha) Hawkes family; Taya (Emmanuel) Sakala family, Shelby (Nate) Finch family, Dalton (Melanie) Oakey family, Reese Oakey, Rhett Oakey, Neisha (Thomas) Hendrickson family and Dylan Hawkes. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Melinda; sister-in-law Kim (Stanton) Hawkes.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Paul LDS Stake Center with Bishop David Phillips officiating. There will be a visitation for family and friends prior to the funeral services from 10:00-10:45am. Interment will be at the Paul Cemetery in Paul, Idaho. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
