Bruce Rodney “Rod” Drury, 80, passed away April 22, 2022 in Twin Falls, Idaho. Born May 23, 1941 in Los Angeles, California to Douglas Richard Drury and Marjorie Tennant Drury and was their 3rd child.  At the time of his passing he was residing at Willows Place Assisted Living in Twin Falls.

Rod was a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team, the Los Angeles / St. Louis Rams football team and the USC Trojans football team. He frequently spoke of attending USC home games as a youth while his father was on the faculty at USC. He enjoyed the ski trips to different resorts with his dad and his older brother each winter. Rod was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when he was a teenager and served in various callings throughout his life.

After graduating High School, Rod enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Bridget off the coast of Vietnam. Later in life Rod enlisted in the Idaho National Guard and completed his service and retired from the local guard unit. Rod was very proud of his service in both branches of the military and inspired his son, Donn, to also serve in the Navy first and then with the Idaho National Guard. He was also proud of his grandson, Brendan Gochnour that is currently serving in the US Army. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where he met Carol Lee Harper. They were later married in the Salt Lake Temple.

Rod was preceded in death by his parents Doug and Marjorie Drury, and siblings Rosalind Radcliff and Alan Drury. Survived by his wife Carol Drury and children Dan (Wendy) Drury of Pocatello, Dennis Drury of Twin Falls, Duane (Kim) Drury of Jerome, Donn Drury of Boise, Carol Renee (Brett) Gochnour of Lake Havasu City, AZ, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Willow Place Assisted Living in Twin Falls for their patience and kindness during his stay and our friends at Hansen Mortuary for their assistance during this difficult time.
