Charlotte Irene Smith, 81 years and 90 days young, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born January 6, 1944, to Odess Earl Brown and Bessie Irene Brown in Topeka Kansas. She was the third born and the only daughter with three brothers.
The family moved from Kansas to California at an early age, where she went to school in Livingston California.
At a young age she married and from that union, they had three children. They traveled and moved to many places. She remarried and of that union, two additional children were born. They moved to Idaho, where she settled down and raised her family.
Later in life, she married Willard Kent Smith on August 20, 2011, where they were sealed in the Twin Falls Temple for all time and eternity.
She had many occupations which included working at the Levi Jean Company, Simplot’s and the Port of Entry. She enjoyed sewing, camping, snowmobiling, PBR bull rides and selling Christmas trees. She had a soft heart for animals and enjoyed the chickens, cows and the many cats that lived at her home.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as Activity Coordinator and Ministering Sister and would assist whenever requested. She also served the widowed and elderly ladies of the ward.
She is survived by her children, Arlen (Terry) Prewitt, Laura (Stuart) Stanger, Tony (Jody) Prewitt, John Plaster and Kelly (Misty) Plaster; grandchildren, Gary Reed (Amber) Prewitt, KC (Melissa) Prewitt, Joshua (Melisssa) Shell, Tony (Ann) Prewitt, Ashley (Taft) Christensen, Katelyne Plaster, Chalet Plaster, Tristen Breeze Plaster, Kadon Plaster, and Preston Plaster and Paul (Linda) Brown, her brother. Along with a plethora of great-grandchildren and stepchildren that were brought into the family along the way.
She is preceded in death by her husband Willard Kent Smith, great-granddaughter Faith Lynn Prewitt, her parents, Odess Earl Brown, Bessie Irene Harris and Glendon George Harris, her brothers Charles Earl Brown and David Dean Brown.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to family and friends, Intermountain Health Hospice and the View 1st Ward for their assistance during this difficult time. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the View 1st Ward Chapel. Viewing for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025 at Hansen Mortuary and for one hour prior to the services at the church. Services will conclude with burial in the View Cemetery under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
