We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Cristobal Marcos Zurita on September 28, 2021 in Nampa, Idaho at St. Alphonsus Medical Center.  Marcos was born on November 17, 1975 in Oaxaca, Mexico to Hortencia Lopez Velazco and Cristobal Rufino Zurita Sanchez.  He was their middle child and only son.  He grew up in Mexico City Districto Federal and he eventually made his way to the United States in search of a better life for him and his family.  After relocating to Boise, Idaho he was blessed with two children, Angelica and Nicolas Zurita whom he loved very much.  He was very proud of his kids.

In 2002 Marcos met the love of his life Carlota Arredondo Zurita at a Spanish dance.  They married seven years later and were truly each other’s soul mates.  Together they built a beautiful life.  He loved Carlota so much.  Apart from being with his family, Marcos had many hobbies.  He loved boxing and the UFC.  He was always waiting for the next big event in those sports.  He loved fishing, being outside, camping, bowling, soccer, dancing, building things and he loved playing cards with his friends and family.  Marcos was known by his family for a phrase he would say when the card game was getting good.  He would say, “Let’s get down and dirty.”  Him saying this meant he was going to get competitive.  It made his family laugh and eventually they would greet him with the phrase.  Marcos’s favorite foods were tacos, menudo, posole, enchiladas, mole, seafood, and he loved a fresh homemade salsa.  He was an Orgulloso Mexicano, he loved his country and never forgot where he came from.

In the summer, you would catch him outside floating the river and in winter he enjoyed going to the McCall Winter Carnival.  Marcos had a great work ethic.  He was very meticulous and took great pride in his work.  He did stucco for many years as a Lather.  He was an expert in his profession, and he showed it in the many beautiful homes and businesses his hands touched throughout Idaho.  Everything he did in life; he always tried to be better, and he was great at everything he did. 

In this moment of profound loss, let us not just recall the memories of this man Cristobal Marcos Zurita but the values he shared with us: spirituality, generosity, humor, and the joy of loving family. He will be greatly missed, especially by his wife Carlota.

He is preceded in death by his mother Hortencia Lopez Velazco; his paternal grandparents Mucio Zurita Barcenas and Amelia Sanchez Olgin; his maternal grandparents Modesto Zurita Vera and Francisca Velasco Morales and his father-in-law Nicolas G. Arredondo Jr.  He is survived by his wife Carlota Zurita; his four sisters Rosalba Zurita Lopez (Jose Pena), Elena Carina Zurita Lopez, Sonia Zurita Lopez and Emmunah Zurita Lopez (Flavio Martinez Vilchis ) all of Mexico; his children Angelica and Nicolas both of Arizona; one  grandson Xavier of Arizona and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021 with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Hansen Mortuary in Rupert.  Burial will take place in the Rupert Cemetery following the funeral service.  Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.

Nos entristece anunciar el repentino fallecimiento de Cristóbal Marcos Zurita el 28 de septiembre de 2021 en Nampa, Idaho en St. Alphonsus Medical Center. Marcos nació el 17 de noviembre de 1975 en Oaxaca, México de Hortencia López Velazco y Cristóbal Rufino Zurita Sánchez. Era sel tercer hijo unico hombre de cinco. Marcos Creció en el Distrito Federal de la Ciudad de México y finalmente se dirigió a los Estados Unidos en busca de una vida mejor para él y su familia. Después de mudarse a Boise, Idaho, fue bendecido con dos hijos, Angélica y Nicolas Zurita, a quienes amaba mucho. Estaba muy orgulloso de sus hijos.
En 2002 Marcos conoció al amor de su vida Carlota Arredonbdo Zurita en un baile español. Se casaron siete años después y eran verdaderamente el alma gemela  de uno para el otro. Juntos construyeron una vida hermosa. Quería mucho a Carlota. Además de estar con su familia, Marcos tenía muchas aficiones. Le encantaba el boxeo y el UFC. Siempre estaba esperando el próximo gran evento en esos deportes. Le encantaba pescar, estar al aire libre, acampar, jugar bolos, fútbol, ​​bailar, construir cosas y le encantaba jugar a las cartas con sus amigos y familiares. Marcos era conocido por su familia por una frase que solía decir cuando el juego de cartas estaba mejorando. Él decía: "Vamos a ensuciarnos". Que él dijera esto significaba que iba a volverse competitivo. Hizo reír a su familia y eventualmente lo saludarían con la frase. Las comidas favoritas de Marcos eran tacos, menudo, posole, enchiladas, mole, mariscos, y le encantaba una salsa casera fresca. Era un Orgulloso Mexicano, amaba a su país y nunca olvidó de dónde venía.
En el verano, lo atrapaba afuera flotando en el río y en invierno disfrutaba yendo al Carnaval de Invierno de McCall. Marcos tenía una gran ética de trabajo. Era muy meticuloso y se enorgullecía de su trabajo. Trabajo en estuco durante muchos años como  un Lather.. Era un experto en su profesión y lo demostró en las muchas casas y negocios hermosos que sus manos reaslizaron en todo Idaho. Todo lo que hizo en la vida; siempre trataba de ser mejor y era excelente en todo lo que hacía.
En este momento de profunda pérdida, recordemos no solo los recuerdos de este hombre, Cristóbal Marcos Zurita, sino los valores que compartió con nosotros: la espiritualidad, la generosidad, el humor y la alegría de amar la familia. Lo extrañaremos mucho, especialmente por su esposa Carlota.
Le precedieron en la muerte su madre Hortencia López Velazco; sus abuelos paternos Mucio Zurita Bárcenas y Amelia Sánchez Olgin; sus abuelos maternos Modesto Zurita Vera y Francisca Velasco Morales y su suegro Nicolás G. Arredondo Jr. Le sobreviven su esposa Carlota Zurita; sus cuatro hermanas Rosalba Zurita López (José Peña), Elena Carina Zurita López, Sonia Zurita López y Emmunah Zurita López (Flavio Martínez Vilchis) todas de México; sus hijos Angélica y Nicolás ambos de Arizona; un nieto Xavier de Arizona y muchas sobrinas y sobrinos.
Se llevará a cabo una visita para familiares y amigos de 9:00 a 11:00 a.m. el viernes 8 de octubre de 2021 con un servicio fúnebre a las 11:00 a.m. en Hansen Mortuary en Rupert. El entierro tendrá lugar en el cementerio de Rupert después del servicio fúnebre. Los arreglos están bajo la dirección de Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
