Dale Alan Crowther 69 of Heyburn, passed away on Sunday March 19, 2023 at his home.
He was born on August 5, 1953 in Jerome Idaho to Frank McDaniel Crowther and Marylee Harriet Schwaner. He was the fifth of nine children. He grew up farming with his dad and brothers. He attended schools in Richfield and graduated in 1971, where he played football, basketball and track. He went on to earn a degree in diesel mechanics from Idaho State University in 1974. He married Karen Neilson on October 26, 1973 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with six daughters.
He was a self-employed mechanic for several years, before going into law enforcement. He enjoyed working as a bailiff for Blaine County before retiring in 2018. He was a member of the Mini-Cassia Search and Rescue for over 30 years including Idaho State Commander for 2 years. He was a member of the State Search and Rescue board at the time of his passing.
He enjoyed anything and everything outdoors, from hunting, camping, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling and horseback riding. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching his favorites, BYU and the Green Bay Packers.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed being the Scoutmaster and teaching the boys all his tricks of the trade.
He loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He wanted to instill honesty and hard work with his posterity. He was always up for fun and adventures. He was enjoying his retirement with his buddies and took up gold prospecting as a hobby. He lived life to the fullest and was always willing to help out anyone who needed it. His humor and quiet spirit will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his six daughters Laura (Grant) Hansen of Goodyear AZ, Lynnette (Jared) Buhr of Tooele UT, Lesli (Dustin) Ravsten of Prescott Valley AZ, Tara (Andy) Eldridge of
Idaho Falls ID, Tiffany (Chris) Wight of Moore ID, and Tamara (Scott) Wardle of Moscow ID, twenty-two grandchildren and his seven siblings Karen, Bill, Bud, Kristy, Kevin, Leanne and Jill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister Marilyn.
A viewing will take place Friday March 24, 2023 from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at Hansen Mortuary in Rupert. Viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. and at the church one hour prior to the funeral. The Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Paul LDS Stake Center 424 W. Ellis St. Interment will take place in Richfield, Idaho. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
