Darlene Johnson Obituary

Darlene Bobbie Perry Johnson, a native of Idaho, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022 in the home of her daughter in Lindon, Utah, from natural causes. Darlene, known as Bobbie while growing up, was born in Rupert, Idaho on August 29, 1930 to Jesse and Nilace Black Perry, the third of ten children.

Bobbie married Max M. Johnson on October 13, 1947 in Elko, Nevada. The next year they were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Dana. Darlene and Dana accompanied Max to his various assignments in the US Army.  Dana married Lyle Clark in 1966, and Max retired from the army shortly thereafter.  Max and Darlene spent a few months on an extended vacation, hunting and fishing in Idaho. Then, as he launched a second career as an electrician at big power plants in Idaho and Nevada, a travel trailer became their new home. Eventually, they settled down in their beautiful country home in Albion, Idaho, to raise cattle and to be closer to family and friends. They worked together in all they did, from fishing to hunting to caring for their land and animals.

Darlene and Max enjoyed memorable visits with Dana and her family, spending time together in the paradise of the Albion Valley. After the death of Max in 2004, Darlene stayed in her beloved Albion home until 2020 when she came to live with Dana and Lyle in Lindon, Utah. She enjoyed many days with her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was a dedicated homemaker, a loving wife and mother, a generous friend to all, and a help to anyone in need.

Darlene Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Dana (Lyle) Clark of Lindon, Utah; eight grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Melba (Howard) Hanks, Lester (Jan) Perry, Jay (Donna) Perry, Sharon (Bryce) Tracy, and Hazel (Al) Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Nilace Perry, her beloved husband, Max, and her siblings, Merle (Paul) Bateman, Shirley (Ted) Merrill, Leonard (Rosemary) Perry, and Dean (Betty) Perry.
