David R. Garcia, 71 year old resident of Paul passed way peacefully at home on Dec 10, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born June 9, 1954 in Persall, Texas the son of Teodoro and Refugio Garcia. The family migrated to the Minidoka area in 1956 and later to Rupert in 1959. He graduated from Minico High School in 1973. David worked for several local businesses, including J.R. Simplot for 25 years, Advanced Welding for 3 years, and Amalgamated Sugar factory for 20 plus years, before he retired July 31, 2023. He formed countless friendships in those years to last a lifetime. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, basketball, bowling, shooting darts, and his true passion, golfing. One he shared with his brothers, nephews, and his children. He also loved camping with his family and making countless memories that will be cherished forever. David married his loving wife Jackie L.(Moore) Garcia on May 17, 1980. They met at the old Rupert bowling alley. Together they had 3 children David Jr, Danyell and Dezirae.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Abe, Moises, Juan, Chon, Dan, Abel, Sam, and sister Elvia, as well as nephews Moises Jr and Rafael Garcia.
His memory is carried on by his wife, Jackie, of 45 years, his son, David Jr. (Kassie) of Twin Falls, his daughters, Danyell (Dratin) Searle of Burley, and Dezirae Garcia of Liverpool, New York. And 2 siblings, Ted Garcia and Esther Rose, along with many nephews and nieces.
Words can not express how deeply he will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. For everyone who has prayed and sent condolences, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
The family will be planning a celebration of his life at a later date next year.
