Eric Reed Watterson

Eric Reed Watterson, 66, of Heyburn, Idaho passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at his home following a recent illness.

Reed was born on August 31, 1954 in Cassia County to Rex and Virginia Watterson and was raised in the Mini-Cassia area.

Reed’s father passed away when he was quite young and Reed began working on the family farm where he could run any equipment and loved working with his mother and all of his siblings.  Later, he went to work for Kloepfer Inc. where he worked for 32 years.

In 1991, Reed married the love of his life, Debbie S. Watterson.  About a year later, they welcomed their son Eric Watterson, Jr.  Together, her sons, Stacey and Jason Terry, they built a life together in Heyburn. 

Reed enjoyed anything outdoors along with Nascar and any other kind of racing.

Reed is survived by his wife, Debbie Watterson and children, Eric (Kenzie) Watterson, Stacey (Waynett) Terry and Jason (Jenny) Terry; his grandchildren, Kaizlei, Kayden, Kaysen, Karston, Salone, Markel, Lexxis, Jaydon, Cashton and Kaitlyn.  He is also survived by brothers Dean Watterson, Lynn (Paula) Watterson and sisters Linda (Dwaine) Baker, Mary (Ronnie) Baker, and many nieces and nephews.

Reed is preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Virginia Watterson, a brother Larry (Connie) Watterson, a sister Colleen (Tom) Gillette and one grandson, Blake Terry.

A celebration of his life will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 506 14th Street in Heyburn, Idaho.  Come and share all of your amazing memories and stories with his family and friends.  Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
