In April of 1967 she received a letter from Paul while he was stationed over in Germany while he was in the Army. When Paul came home they finally met and became soul mates instantly and were married in the Whitaker Chapel in Chubbuck Idaho on July 3, 1969 and sealed in the Manti, Temple in November 1970.

In 1984 they moved their children and small farm to Virginia Idaho where they raised their children and continued to have their small farm adding goats, sheep, pigs, and cows to their collection. Esther enjoyed showing goats and rabbits at the Bannock county fair, Eastern Idaho State fair and the Utah fairs. Esther had her 3 daughters in 4-H and helped them with their projects. She enjoyed teaching her girls how to sew and cook.
Esther enjoyed making Easter dresses for her daughters and crocheting Afghans for her grandchildren.
