Eunice Irene (Kessinger) Stewart

Eunice Irene (Kessinger) Stewart passed on Friday December 29, 2023 on her 97th birthday. She passed quietly and peacefully in her home in Rupert, Idaho.

She was born December 29, 1926 in Reedsport, Oregon to Clyde and Eunice Kessinger. Her family moved to Eugene, Oregon where she attended school. After graduating she attended her first year of Nursing School, where she meet Lee Stewart who was a patient at the Hospital. They were married November 20, 1946 in Eugene, Oregon. Irene and Lee had 4 sons, Tony, Rodney, Roy, and Jerry. In 1958 they participated in the Homestead draw and were successful and moved North of Rupert where they raised their family. Irene had several hobbies, oil painting that she took up after Lee passed, she loved her flowers and feeding the local cats.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lee and 2 sons Tony, and Roy. Surviving are Rodney (Jamie) Stewart of Rupert, and Jerry Stewart of Waddell Arizona. 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and everyone’s welcome.
