Frank G. Uriguen – “Eventually all things merge into one and a river runs through it.”
Frank Uriguen passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho. He was born on August 26, 1950, in Burley, Idaho, to Frank Uriguen Sr. and Rosella Lorraine Mai.
Frank was the oldest of two sons and spent his early years in Rupert before moving to Paul, Idaho. He attended St. Nicholas Catholic School and Minico High School, where he excelled in athletics, particularly golf, competing in multiple state championships. He went on to attend Boise State University, remaining a proud alumnus and devoted fan throughout his life.
Frank’s life was defined by hard work and a love of the outdoors. He worked on the family farm and concurrently built a long career with UPS, where he worked for 32 years before retiring. In his younger years, he also worked in fire management, spending summers in Alaska as a fire boss on rugged terrain. A time and service he remembered fondly. In retirement, he fully embraced the things he loved most—traveling, fishing, and spending time with family.
An avid outdoorsman, Frank enjoyed skiing and golf, but his greatest passion was fly fishing. He found peace and spirituality standing in the rivers he loved, especially along the Beaverhead River in Dillon, Montana. He also cherished time spent in Ketchum, Idaho, where many of his happiest memories were made.
Frank was first married to Tina, the mother of his two daughters, Shylo and Ande. He later shared 35 years with his beloved wife, Connie, including 22 years of marriage. Connie is the mother of Kellie and Kyle, whom Frank proudly loved as his own. Together they traveled widely, often attending sporting events and exploring both new destinations and favorite places. Frank was a devoted husband, a proud father, and nothing brought him greater joy than being “Papa” to his three grandsons.
Frank had a gift for bringing people together. He loved entertaining friends, sharing stories, laughter, and good cocktails. His loyalty was unmatched, and he formed deep, lasting friendships throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sr. and Lorraine Uriguen. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie; his brother, Steve Uriguen; his children, Shylo Moody, Ande (Morgan) Uriguen, Kellie (Cody) Mingo, and Kyle (Ashley) Gochnour; and his cherished grandsons, Sam, Sawyer, and Sullivan Gochnour.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Minidoka Memorial Hospital and St. Luke’s Hospital, especially Dr. Gregory Ball, his ICU team, and Dr. Bethany Sappington, for their compassionate care during Frank’s final days.
Urn placement will take place at Paul Cemetery, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
Frank will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, his love of family and friends, and the peace he found in the great outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Paul Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
