Helen Beatrice Haws Moore, 98, passed into a better world on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Autumn Haven Assisted Living in Rupert, Idaho.
She was born in Venice, California on August 15, 1924 to Leon R. and Afton Driggs Haws. She grew up in Newdale, Idaho surrounded by many cousins who were her best friends. She always loved farming and helped her dad on the farm. She met Jim Moore at the roller-skating rink in Teton City and they married in 1945. In 1958 they drew out on a homestead northwest of Paul where they worked hard, but loved every minute of it.
Mom and her friend, Nola Clark, were mothers of special needs children and together they worked tirelessly for the beginning of Special Education in Minidoka County.
In 1977, mom and dad sold their farm and moved back to Teton City. After Jim’s passing, she moved back to Paul to be near family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her son Brent, her granddaughter Tiffany Bopp, and her son-in-law Ward Maxfield and many many friends.
She is survived be her son Randy (Peggy) Moore of Chubbuck, Idaho, daughter Judy Maxfield of Paul, eight grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
We would like to thank Alexis, Angie, Rachel and every caregiver at Autumn Haven. She was loved and so well cared for by these earthly angels. Thanks also to the staff from Hospice Visions for their kindness and service.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 29, 2023 at Hansen Mortuary in Rupert. Services will conclude with burial in the Teton Newdale Cemetery in Sugar City, Idaho. Services are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
