Ilse H. Schoepp, 82-year-old longtime Rupert resident, passed away at her home on October 21, 2022. She was born June 9, 1940 in Fechenheim, Germany to Adam and Lina Puth.
Ilse met Royce Jensen Sr. a US Army service member and was married June 9, 1958 in Germany and had one son born on an Army base there in 1959. She then came to the United States later in that year as a young bride knowing no English and here she bore four more children and worked in the family meat business. Ilse and Royce later divorced, and Ilse then went on to work at Bryants Custom Packing Plant in Burley, Idaho and later met and married Josef Schoepp of Rupert and gained two more sons in the process.
She followed Joe on a farming adventure in Alaska in 1980 but soon returned to Rupert where Joe worked at Amalgamated Sugar. Ilse loved fishing and camping and spent many years with Joe doing this. She also worked during harvest with Joe for Boyd Chugg after retirement. She loved her family especially her grandkids where she is affectionately known as Mom, No nos, Oma and Grandma by many including her “adopted” family neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Joe , three sons, Herbert, Walter, and Royce Jr. one brother Gunter, and a grandson Richard. She is survived by a sister Crystal (Daniel) Ferchau of Minnesota, sister-in-law Margit Puth of Germany, daughters Terry McCann of Rupert, Trish Maas of Missouri, sons Mike Jensen of Arkansas, Mark Jensen of Nevada, several nieces, and nephews, and more than 59 grand and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Minidoka Memorial Hospital, Visions Hospice, and Hansen Mortuary for their kindness and care shown to our Mother.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 28, 2022 at Hansen Mortuary in Rupert, Idaho with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will take place at the Rupert Cemetery following the funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
