Janet Stoddard Bingham, after a year of showing strong will and faith, was called home to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Janet is a devout disciple of our Heavenly Father and a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and midwife. Janet was born February 23, 1943 in Heyburn, Idaho to Chester Verdean and Madora Sabin Stoddard. She is one of five children: Evan (Charlene) Stoddard of Coeur d’Alene, Nila (the late Wallace) Krahn of Coeur d’Alene, the late Raida (Lamar) Loveland of Hagerman, and Gary (Deborah) Stoddard of Pocatello. She was raised in the Rupert/Heyburn area and graduated from Minico High School in 1961. Janet then furthered her education by attending Ricks College majoring in nursing, where she met and married her sweetheart Merrell Max Bingham of Burley. They were sealed for time and all eternity 60 years ago February 21, 1963 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Janet is survived by her children Becky (the late Dale) Grimm, Scott (Mindy Andersen) Bingham, Jeanna (Samuel) Garner, and Monica (the late Jay) Hamilton, all of Rupert, Idaho. Janet is preceded in death by her beloved husband Merrell Max Bingham, her parents Chester Verdean and Madora Sabin Stoddard, her son Daniel, grandson Tate Bingham, and granddaughter Savannah Grimm. Janet and Merrell have 25 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Janet loved the outdoors, animals, oil painting, sewing, gardening, canning, being adventurous, serving and caring for others. She was also an amazing cook and shared her delicious homemade bread with so many people. Janet was an herbalist and midwife for 40 years and assisted hundreds of babies into this world. She loved being with family and friends and it was always hard for her to leave and say goodbye, which stayed true to the end of her life. Of all her wonderful attributes, her most cherished desire, love, and accomplishment in this life was that of being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her serving hands and heart will be greatly missed, but her teachings and faithful spirit will influence our lives forever; leaving a legacy that will last eternally.
