Janet Louise Jensen (Hawkes), 74, passed away surrounded by family and friends on November 13, 2024, at Rosetta Assisted Living in Burley ID.
Janet Louise Jensen (Hawkes) was born November 25, 1949, to Ronald and Verna Hawkes in Rupert Idaho.
Janet loved growing up on the farm and helping on the dairy. She enjoyed painting and listening to music. Janet spent extra time out on the farm with her four children helping her parents. She loved canning with her mother every year after harvest. Janet served her community as a bus driver for the Trans Four transportation company in Burley, ID for many years. She loved helping the elderly and the handicap in her community. Janet enjoyed spending time with her sisters and always looked forward to the “sisters lunch”, time when they would get together and enjoy each other’s company and play catch up!
Janet married Don M Jensen of Providence Utah in the Logan LDS Temple. Janet is survived by her four sons, Robert Don (Darcie) Jensen of Preston Idaho, Anthony Ray (Jennifer) Jensen of Rupert, Idaho, Gordon West (Burley Idaho) and DeeLynn West (Oklahoma).
Janet raised four boys in Burley, ID and enjoyed seeing them become successful in their own ways. Gordon joined the National Guard and DeeLynn went into the US Army. Both as young men served their country proudly. Ray and Robert had great work ethics and enjoy serving others, a trait Janet had instilled in them when they were young. Both have successful careers in leadership roles in their current employment.
Janet enjoyed the precious time she spent with her 5 wonderful grandchildren. Karley Nicole Murphy (Michael), Blake Don Jensen (Baylielynn), Janae Christine Jensen (22), Kyle M Jensen (21), Braxton L Jensen (19).
Janet was the youngest of 8 children and is survived by her four sisters, Faye (Dennis) Dixon of Ogden, UT, VerRona Harper of Paul, ID, Donna Lee Hart of Heyburn, ID and Dianne LaRoque of Paul, ID. Janet Jense was preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Verna Hawkes, Brothers Phil and Glen Hawkes, Sister Margene Bolinger.
