Jason Lynch
September 14, 1972 – February 26, 2026
Jason J. Lynch, 53, of Jackson, Idaho, passed away on February 26, 2026, while vacationing in the southern Caribbean.
Jason was born on September 14, 1972, in Burley, Idaho, to Ronald and Robinette Lynch. He grew up in the Burley area and graduated from Burley High School in 1990. Later that year, Jason met Sarah, beginning a journey that would span nearly four decades. They were married in June 1995 and, although they later divorced, they remained close friends and dedicated co-parents. To Jason and Sarah, the term "ex" never applied; there was no "ex" in the Lynch Mob.
An entrepreneurial spirit with many talents, Jason began his career working with his father and his brother, Sheldon, to open Ronco Building Supply, where his brother, Tim, later joined them. In 2004, Jason and Sarah opened Rupert Lumber and Paint in Rupert, Idaho.
After selling the store in 2009, Jason demonstrated his signature grit by returning to school to pursue nursing. Though he realized along the way that nursing wasn’t his career path, he refused to give up until the job was done. He successfully earned his Bachelor’s degree in nursing before moving on to his next goal: becoming a full-time Sheriff’s Deputy. This was where he truly shined, finding a profession that matched his character and his desire to serve his community. Jason served with the Cassia County Sheriff’s Department before, once again in true Jason fashion, deciding to live out another dream by opening The Wild Alaskan Lodge.
Outside of his professional life, Jason was a man of the outdoors through and through; hunting and fishing truly ran through his veins. Whether he was tracking game through the Idaho mountains or waiting for a bite on the line, he was in his element. His passion for the wilderness was so deep it eventually led him to the rugged landscapes of Alaska to share that love with others. Perhaps his greatest joy was handing down his extensive knowledge of guns and the outdoors to his children, ensuring his skills and his love for the wild would live on through them.
Jason’s legacy of service and resilience lives on through his five children and their families: Jordan Lynch and her daughter Malia; Adam and Ha-Vi Lynch; Noah and Daniella Lynch and their boys, Easton and Everett; Isaac and Bailey Lynch; and Isaiah and Jade Lynch. His children continue his tradition of service in the Boise Police Department, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Air Force.
Jason is survived by his parents, Ronald and Robinette Lynch; his brothers, Sheldon (Amber) Lynch and Tim (Melissa) Lynch; Sarah Lynch; and the entirety of the Lynch Mob, including his five children, their spouses, and his three grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Grace Church in Rupert, Idaho. A gathering will follow immediately after at the Rupert Elks to share stories and remember a life well-lived.
