Obituary

Jeff L. McCoy, 58 of Boise, Idaho passed away peacefully Mother’s Day May 8, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

Jeff was born May 21, 1963 in Burley, Idaho to Cheryl Lee (Harris) and Charles Melvin McCoy. Jeff was the best brother to his 3 sisters, Jan, Jamee, and Jennifer.

Jeff graduated from Minico High School in 1981. He was active in sports and had many friends. After graduating from high school, Jeff moved to Boise. He lived an adventurous life. He played drums in many rock bands.

In 1983, Jeff moved to Declo and worked for Mark Darrington Farms and later worked for his dad at Chuck McCoy Custom Farming. They eventually partnered in a custom application business. While living in Declo Jeff met Dianne Partin. They married and later divorced but not before Jeff’s greatest blessing was born in December 1986. Kegan was his best friend and greatest joy. As a single father Jeff faced many challenges but he never faced them alone. He always had the love and support of his family who were there for him in his time of need.

Jeff was Sales Manager at Rob Green for many years. He also worked other various jobs throughout the years such as, Idaho Milk, V1 Propane and McCrae Custom Farming. Jeff was currently employed at Hillcrest Country Club where he enjoyed spending his days with Joe, Squirrel, Slash, and the crew. Jeff was proud of his work and always strived to make the grounds beautiful and Hillcrest proud.

Jeff loved music. He could tell you the names of every member of every rock band, the lyrics to every song and what year an album was recorded. He said Bon Scott was the best damn rock star that ever lived. He was an encyclopedia of music.

Jeff love golf and golfed many courses around the valley. Next to his son Kegan, Kelly Beale was his favorite golf partner. If you ever golfed with Jeff you could hear him say, “Keep your damn head down!”

Jeff had 3 beautiful grandchildren, Niah, Knox and Kwyncee. They were his pride and joy. He loved spending time with them. Much to the chagrin of Kegan and Lyndsie he loved to spoil them with an overabundance of gifts.

In August 1981, Jeff suffered the tragic loss of his mother. He was heartbroken and never fully recovered but he gained an amazing bonus Mom, Krinn Critchfield McCoy whom he loved and adored dearly.

Jeff was preceded in death by his Mom Cheryl Lee (Harris) McCoy, maternal grandparents Clyde & Georgia Harris, paternal grandparents Timmy & Nancy McCoy, Aunt Gayle (Harris) Beck, Nephew Bensyn West, cousins Terry Shelby and Lisa Urigen.

He is survived by his Son Kegan (Lyndsie) McCoy, Father Charles Melvin (Krinn) McCoy, Sisters, Jan (Kelly) Beale, Jamee McCoy, Jennifer (Eric) Thompson, Jamie (Curt) Thomason. Brothers Todd Jones, Tobin Jones, Tyler (Renae) Jones. 3 grandchildren – Niah, Knox and Kwyncee McCoy and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. His favorite dogs Georgia & Clyde.
