Jennie Gladys Dutton

Jennie Gladys Dutton, 91, of Rupert, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Those who had the pleasure of meeting her will surely remember her warm smile, musical laughter, and warm hugs. She brought joy with her to every occasion and opened her heart to all.

Jennie married Archie Vernon Dutton on May 22, 1950, and together they shared 37 wonderful years before Archie’s passing. In 1993, she found love again and married Louis Dutton. Sadly, she was widowed once more when Louis passed in 1995.

Jennie lived a simple life, finding true happiness in the company of her family and friends. She was content to cozy up with a warm blanket, a crossword puzzle, and a Western, especially if John Wayne was on the screen.

In her later years, Jennie found joy in serving her community. She spent many Christmas seasons ringing the bell for the Salvation Army in Idaho Falls and worked several years at the Eastern Idaho State Fair. These roles gave her the opportunity to do what she loved most: meet new people, share stories, and spread laughter.

Jennie had a close connection with God and was open to praise Him in any setting. She was an amazing example of love, acceptance, and joy to all.

Jennie is survived by her children: Sharron Simpson, Linda Lazzarotto, Colleen Jones, and Vern (Jessie) Dutton; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marintha Davis; her children: Brian Dutton, Steven Dutton, Vernon Archie Dutton, Colleen Dutton, and Barbara Smith; grandsons: Timothy Smith, Brian Simpson, Harvey Blair II, and Daniel Blair; granddaughter: Christina Blair; great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of Jennie's life will be held on Saturday, October 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Christian Center – Assembly of God, 317 Mountain View Lane, Burley, Idaho.   under the
