With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Joel Madrigal, beloved son, brother, and friend who left us far too soon. Joel was called to heaven on July 8, 2025. Just as he was beginning his Senior year at Minico High School Class of 2026.
Born on February 25 ,2008, the youngest of four children to Andres and Ana Celia Madrigal, Joel brought light and laughter to everyone who knew him. His love for the outdoors was matched by his passion for collecting Hot Wheels cars and Nike shoes, and spending endless hours with his friends, girlfriend, family, and the freedom that he felt on the open road.
Joel cherished his long drives to Albion where the wind and windy roads gave him a sense of peace and adventure on his beloved motorcycle.
He was very eager and quick to offer a helping hand and provide jokes and entertainment to make everyone happy. He loved giving his siblings a hard time especially with their pet cat Memin, when secretly he loved him so much.
Joel’s absence leaves a large ache in the hearts of everyone who knew him. He is survived by his parents Andres and Ana Celia Madrigal, and his 3 older siblings Jenifer (Jalen) Ovalle Madrigal, Jessica Madrigal, Jason Madrigal, and his extended family and countless friends at Minico and in the community, all of whom will remember his vibrant spirit and the love he shared so freely.
He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, (Madrigal) and great grandparents.
Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at St Nicholas Catholic Church. Viewing for family and friends will be held with a Rosary from 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2025, at Hansen Mortuary and for one hour prior to Mass at the Church. Services will conclude with burial in the Rupert Cemetery under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
Meantime we invite all who knew him to take a long drive, sit outside and look up at the stars, just as Joel would have done and remember his smile and carry his spirit forward with love.
Thank you to the Minidoka Sheriff’s department, Idaho State Police, Minidoka Memorial EMT Services, and The Burley corners office for all your efforts to bring Joel home.
Rest in peace Mijo, we love you and await the day to see you again.
Joely
