Judy Cleone Bunn Cahoon, 77, went home to her Heavenly Father on June 11, 2022, in Gooding, Idaho.
Judy was born on July 19, 1944 to Arnold and Stella Bunn, in Burley Idaho. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Wilma Sparks-McOmber and Retta Bindrup, and her son Michael Bart Cahoon. She is survived by her sweetheart of fifty-six years, Michael Lee Cahoon, her son Dustin (Cari) Cahoon, and her daughters Michelle (Tom) Powell, Jenifer (Derek) Sanford. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren; Liam, Kate, and Evelyn Cahoon, Tyler, Abigale and Michael Powell, Deralyn, Lexi and Madelyn Sanford, two sisters Renee Frey, Faye Holmes, and several nieces and nephews.
Judy graduated from Twin Falls Business College and began her business career in bookkeeping at Kings in Burley, Idaho. She very proudly became their first female office manager, a position she continued to hold for other companies until her retirement from Magic Valley International - Rush Trucking in 2006.
Judy and Mike were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 20, 1965 and raised their family in Heyburn, Idaho where they were committed members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Family and church were central in their lives. Judy served the church as a primary and Relief Society presidency member, a Primary and Sunday School Teacher as well as a church service missionary at Employment Services, Family History Center, and the Bishop’s Storehouse, but her favorite position was serving as a missionary in the Twin Falls, Idaho Temple.
Judy loved gardening, growing flowers and was known to have an amazingly green thumb. She and Mike enjoyed dancing, camping, riding motorcycles, attending their children's and grandchildren's activities and hosting her nieces, nephews and grandchildren for weeks during the summer. She was often the instigator to many water fights with all of them. She was the most amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. We were so blessed to have her in our lives and will miss her beautiful spirit everyday.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bennett Hills Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Portneuf Rehabilitation Center for the loving care and kindness they showed Judy in her last days here on earth.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Heyburn 1st ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Viewing for family and friends will be held 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. before the services at the church. Services will conclude with burial in the Almo, Idaho Sunny Cedar Rest Cemetery under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
