Lucy Seager (Jean), 93, of Rupert Idaho passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, surrounded by family.

 

Lucy was born July 31, 1928, in Logan, Utah to James Joseph Buttars and Agnes Eliza Jardine Buttars. She was the youngest of 13 children. She married the love of her life Charles F Seager on October 6, 1946.

 

Lucy worked several jobs from babysitting, working on a mink farm, at a poultry processing plant, to driving school buses and making clothes, she also worked at South Idaho Press delivering newspapers. Her favorite job was babysitting which is what she was best at, as she adored the babies. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting, ceramics, and driving.

 

Lucy LaJean Seager is survived by her children, Charles F (Kasumi) Seager III, L. Christina (Andy) Studer, Margie (Charley) Seager-Olsen, Russell J (Kerilynn) Seager, and Cheri L. (Ed) Lee; 34 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles F Seager, daughter Wanda Darline Seager, both of her Parents, and all 12 of her siblings.

 

Family wants to send a special thank you to Countryside care and Rehab for their amazing support and care they gave Lucy. The nurses and aids there took such great care and made her final days comfortable. She loved interacting with the staff.  Also, to Dr. Swenson for being a wonderful doctor that she would look forward to seeing at every appointment. And to Autumn Haven for helping her stay independent as long as she could.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the Rupert LDS 3rd Ward Building with Bishop Rick Stimpson officiating. Viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday January 19,2022 from 6-8 pm, at Hansen Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church. Services will conclude with burial at the Clarkston City Cemetery in Clarkston, Utah, at 3:30 pm under the direction of Joel Heward at Hansen Mortuary.
