Our beloved husband, dad, and grandpa, Mark Frank Andreasen, 59, of Rupert, Idaho passed away in the early hours of October 3rd, 2024. Mark was born on October 31st, 1964, in Vernal, Utah to Frank and Marlene Andreasen.  He lived his childhood in Utah with his four siblings, one older sister and three younger brothers.  In his mid-twenties, he moved to Idaho to work at the Idaho Youth Ranch where he ended up meeting the love of his life, and wife of 31 years, Tamara. They had three children together, Maci, Jonathon, and Thomas. Mark had a few occupations throughout his life; he dedicated a lot of time working with at risk youth and served as a part of the Rupert Police Department as police officer and resource officer. But he found his true calling as a Funeral Director, where he loved serving his community in their time of need.

Mark loved his family and made sure they all knew it every chance he got. He enjoyed spending time with each of his children, and the light of his life for the last three years was spending time with his grandson, John.

One of Mark’s favorite hidden talents was that he was fluent in Chinese and loved surprising the waiters at every Chinese restaurant he ate at, which was his choice of restaurant every chance he got. He felt blessed he had the amazing opportunity to visit China with some close friends and loved to tell the story.

Mark is survived by his father Frank Andreasen, wife Tamara Andreasen, his children Maci (Samuel) Richardson, Jonathon Andreasen and Thomas (Olivia Coca) Andreasen, his grandson John Richardson, and his brothers David (Teri) Andreasen and Willie (Lisa Lamoreaux) Andreasen. He was preceded in death by his mother Marlene Andreasen, his brother Philip Andreasen and his sister Kathleen Wallace.

Mark’s memorial service will be held at Hansen's Mortuary (710 6th St, Rupert, ID 83350) on Friday, October 11th, 2024. The viewing will be held from 5pm-6pm, memorial service beginning at 6pm and a dinner gathering will be offered for all immediately after.

Mark was a loved man by many and had a lot of wonderful friends. He had a great relationship with his father and brothers to the end.  Mark loved his wife dearly and they had a fun and loving 31 years. His children were beyond lucky to have him as a father and will miss him dearly.  Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
