Mildred Emma (Shade) Amen

Mildred Emma Amen, 95, of Rupert, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Countryside Care and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on October 9, 1925 in Colorado to Fred and Emma Shade.  She married Eugene King in October of 1944 and they were later divorced.  She married Walter Amen in December of 1969. 

She worked for many years at Triple C Concrete and in the early 1970’s, she and Walter opened Amen’s Café and they worked together there until the early 1990’s.

She is survived by her sons, David (Mary) King of Burley and Rick (Darla) King of Rexburg and a sister, Shirley Warren.  She is also survived by lots of grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkids.  She will be missed by all of them.  She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Walter; her brothers Herbert Shade, Elmer Shade, and Leo Shade and a sister Betty Isaak.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Rupert Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
