Pedro Ramirez Obituary

Our beloved Pedro Ramirez passed to his eternal reward on March 22, 2020, in Idaho.  He was 79 years young and just prior to his passing had been enjoying the day with his family.

As a young father, he immigrated from Mexico with his family to Rupert, Idaho.  He quickly learned English and was instrumental in many of his family moving to the Rupert area.  He was an outstanding man who helped so many people in his lifetime.  He served as a father figure to many of his relatives.

He loved to socialize and spend time with family and friends.  His home was the center of many gatherings and no one left empty-handed when they visited.  He was always a happy individual bringing joy to others with his smile and love of music.  Often times, he would act silly to make others laugh.  In his gifts to his family, he would always include a funny hand drawn picture to make them smile.   He didn't like to see people unhappy and would say  "don’t have a potato face".  (Perhaps because he lived in Idaho and saw too many unhappy potatoes.)

He enjoyed working outside on his property and always keeping busy.  He loved to listen to the radio when he was working or relaxing outdoors.  He liked raising animals and caring for a large garden which he shared with everyone.

He was a dedicated employee to the Simplot Corporation for over 30 years, where he had various responsibilities.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Consuelo Ramirez; his children, Felix (Kathy) Ramirez;  Grace (Glenn) Foley; Jaime Ramirez; Lucy (Gustavo) Olmos.  He is also survived by his brothers Jose (Consuelo) Ramirez, Amando (Catarina) Ramirez, Raul (Lourdes) Ramirez, 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a large extended family.

A celebration of life will be held in Rupert, Idaho on August 7, 2020.
