Randy W. Bailes

 Randy W. Bailes was born on June 18, 1960, to Frank and Mary Lou Hansen Bailes in Rupert, Idaho. He passed away on June 1, 2025, from an automobile accident.

He graduated from Minico High School in 1978 and attended ISU in the Diesel Mechanic program for 2 years.

He married Brenda James on September 12, 1981, and had two children, Austin, born in 1988 and Alyssa, born in 1990. They later divorced.

Randy was a well-respected tractor mechanic.  He worked for Cameron Sales and Service in Rupert for many years specializing in Case IH tractors. He then moved on to work for Hunsaker farms and Pioneer Equipment for several years before striking out on his own as Bailes Tractor Repair.

He was an avid sportsman. His Favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, sport shooting, and, lately, rock-hounding with his brother, Rick. He liked camping and was always at peace in the mountains. He was a faithful watcher of Nascar – with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver. He also loved entertaining family and friends with card games, pool, skee-ball, and darts as well as video and board games.

On May 31, he had the honor of walking his daughter down the aisle to be married, welcoming his son-in-law, and celebrating the rest of the evening surrounded by family and friends.

Randy is survived by his children, Austin Bailes, and Alyssa (Will) Layne. His Sisters, Diane (Lynn) Nielsen, and Missy Miller, and his brothers, Rick Bailes, Tony (Ruth) Bailes, and Steve (Tina) Roberts as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his dad Frank, his mother and stepdad Carl and Mary Lou Roberts, and a niece, Whitney Bailes Maughan.

The family would like to thank Law Enforcement and the First Responders for the care given to our dad and brother.

Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, at Hansen Mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
