Robert Ward Obituary

Robert Brent Ward passed away March 20, 2020 in Pocatello, Idaho. He was born to Gale Robert Ward and Lucille Jensen (Ward) Patton in Burley, Idaho on October 16, 1955. He was the third of four children born to Gale and Lucille.

From a young age, Brent enjoyed being with his family. He enjoyed spending time with his siblings, he was very good at teasing them, bringing much laughter and happiness into the family. Brent took his home chores with full responsibility, the lawn was always mowed, and firewood was split and neatly stacked for the upcoming winter. He was always one to help around the house and cared about others. Brent also loved music, he thoroughly enjoyed listening to his parents play in the Old Time Fiddlers as well as listen to his brothers play their instruments. He generally would laugh and make faces at the performers, always bringing smiles to all.

One of Brent’s passions was anything with motors, specifically riding his three wheelers, four wheelers and most recently his side by side which he named, “The Mule.” He would generally ride around checking on things, making sure all was well on the land with Gale. He would be seen driving down to the post office daily, one of his dogs in the back (on a specially made platform of course) to get the mail. His other passion was tow trucks. During his time with Gale on the land, they built many projects; some of them were homemade tow trucks. Brent would get in and start the trucks, walk around them pretending to lower the boom and bring the winch in. He loved all things mechanical and was adept and figuring things out.

Brent loved those who he came in contact with, generally remembering names for quite some time.

Brent is survived by his brothers, Michael, Ron (Malinda), and his sister Kathleen as well as nieces and nephews. His family will miss his teasing and crazy contagious laugh, he is well loved.

A graveside service will be held in Elba, Idaho Thursday March 26th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Because of current social conditions, it will be a private ceremony. The family will schedule a celebration of life in the future for others to attend and share their memories of Brent. The family would like to thank all those who cared for Brent in the last months of his life, enjoying his wit to the end.
