Robert Vasquez Jr.

Robert Vasquez Jr. (Bobby), 62, passed away Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 in Burley, Idaho. Robert was born on November 22,1961 in San Benito, Texas to Robert (Senior) and Aurora Vasquez. Robert resided in Heyburn, Idaho and at the time of death was at Parke View Rehabilitation and Care Center. He had been battling Multiple Myeloma for 3 years and put up the biggest fight.
Robert was survived by his parents, wife (Louise), his sister Janie (Fortunato) Miranda, his kids Alisha Linzy, Burley, Melissa Vasquez, Boise, Rachel Vasquez, Jerome, Joseph Mejias, Arizona, Chelsie DeFilippis, Colorado, Jordan DeFilippis, Washington, Natasha Vasquez (Jesus), Burley. His 10 grandkids, and 2 great grandkids, and many other people that loved Bobby.
Robert is preceded in death by his brother (Danny Vasquez), his grandparents, and 3 grandkids, and many other loving family members.
Robert and Louise were married for 25 years, and he always looked up to her especially through his cancer battle. Robert attended and graduated from Burley High School and attended CSI college. He had an honorable discharge from the Military. Robert had a great sense of humor and the ability to make people laugh. He would always have a smile
on his face, that people remember. Robert was a salesman for Goode Motors and Young
Automotive in Burley, Idaho He loved people and made friends wherever he went. He
volunteered at the Friends of DeMary Memorial Library. Robert delivered newsletters for the Magic Valley area. One thing Robert absolutely loved was books, he could spend hours in books stores, hours reading, and he couldn't leave the bookstore unless he bought a book. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed researching different topics, taking road trips, visiting ghost towns, and he loved history. Robert lived every day with gratitude, as he would say "That is how we survive."
Recitation of the Rosary will be held 10:00 a.m. prior to the Memorial Service which will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2024 at Hansen Mortuary and will conclude with Veterans Rites by the Mini-Cassia Veterans. Services are under the direction of Morrison Payne Funeral Home.
