Ruth Mae (Davis) Edwards

Our beloved Ruth Mae Edwards passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on May 26, 2021.

She was born November 29, 1946 in Rexburg, Idaho.  She was the daughter of Red and Hazel Davis who she loved dearly and joyfully devoted years to their care.

On December 21, 1969 Ruth married her love Richard Edwards, bringing with her two young girls, Joi and Jeri.  Later they welcomed their son Clint.

Ruth and Richard moved to the Jackson, Idaho area in November 1974 with a dream to farm.  Working side by side they took on the challenges and joys of farm life.  They built a beautiful strong family that currently includes 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Her first love was her husband and family.  Ruth also loved her career, working at the Minidoka Memorial Hospital for over 30 years.  As Office Manager of the Occupational Health Department many people knew her and depended on her expertise.

Ruth enjoyed gardening and visiting with long-time friends.  She especially loved their home in Salmon, Idaho and their many “get-away” trips there.  She would load up her totes and away they’d go.  Richard affectionately referred to her as “Charlie”.  He would tell her “Tote up Charlie – lets hit the road!”

Ruth is survived by her husband Richard Edwards.  Her daughters Joi Olund and Jeri (Chris) Mai.  Her son Clint (Trista) Edwards and her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her brother Blaine and sister Linda.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister, a special grand daughter Jordyn and her best friend Helen.

Gathering for friends and family will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021 at Hansen Mortuary. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Salmon Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
