Salvador Salinas Tellez returned to our Heavenly Father in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family, February 7, 2021.  He was born January 10, 1931 in Transval, Michoacan to Tomas Salinas and Rosario Tellez.  After living in Rupert, Idaho with his family for the past 34 years, he is now reunited with his late wife Andrea Salinas Ruiz.

Known as Papa Chava by family, he was notorious for spending way too much time outside.  Regardless of the weather, it was almost guarantee that if it was light out you would find him out with his animals or simply sitting out underneath one of his favorite fruit trees with his pets soaking up the sun.  He will always be remembered fondly as a giving and loyal man.

He will be remembered not only by his children; Celia Salinas, Socorro De La Cruz, Luz Salinas, Lidia Vargas, Chayo Arciga, Gabriela Tovar, Letty Tovar, and Rolando Salinas but also by his many grandchildren.  Having 8 children, 33 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  Papa Chava was and is deeply loved.  He will be dearly missed because his life made multiple meaningful impacts to all who were fortunate of knowing him.

A special thanks goes to the wonderful staff at Intermountain Home Care and Hospice for being so caring and helpful to not only Salvador but also his family.  A big thanks also to the spouses: Alberto De La Cruz, Juan Vargas, Antonio Ariega, Miguel Tovar and Trino Tovar.  Through all the hardships you all provided support to Salvadors kin, which has been greatly appreciated.  Thank you also to everyone who has kept Salvador and his family in your thoughts and prayers, to those who visited and called.  Papa Chava passed away calm and in peace thanks to all the love he had in his life.

For those wishing to pay their respects, Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
