Steven Harris Obituary

Steven Kent Harris, a devoted husband and father, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, at his home with his family by his side. He will be remembered for his generosity and his witty sense of humor, which brought happiness and laughter to everyone around him.

Steve was born in Caldwell, Idaho, to Glenwin Harris and Lorraine Eite Harris. As a child, he grew up in Caldwell and then moved with his family to the farming community in the Rupert and Heyburn area. Steve attended Rupert and Heyburn schools and graduated from Minico High School. He attended Ricks College, where he studied electrical engineering.

Steve had a passion for farming and enjoyed working on the family farm. While growing up, Steve helped his family with a large farm north of Kimama. When his dad retired from farming, Steve moved his farming operation closer to the Paul area and spent many years tirelessly working the land. He was proud of the farms he owned and was content to spend the rest of his life on the farm.

When he wasn't farming, Steve loved spending time with his family. As a young man, Steve owned a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed taking his wife and young children on rides through the wilderness of Idaho. As the years went by, the motorcycle rides moved into scenic car trips, which provided many fun times and cherished memories for the family. Steve also enjoyed working around his yard and working on projects in his shop. He was mechanically inclined and had an incredible ability to repair anything that broke. He will be remembered for his "can-do" attitude and that there is a solution for every problem.

Steve was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in positions in the Sunday School Presidency and the Family History Center. For many years, he faithfully served once a week at the Family History Center, where he helped patrons with their genealogy. He had a passion for family history work and spent many years with his wife tracing their family lines.

Steve is survived by his son, Sheldon Harris of Pocatello, ID, and daughter, Stephanie Harris of Paul, ID. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Harris, his parents, and his brother, Lauren Harris.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8 at 12:00 pm, at the Rupert Cemetery. There will be no public viewing at Steve's request. The funeral is under the direction of Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel.
