Surrounded by loved ones at home, Sylvia Bailey passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the age of 76. She was born on February 14, 1949, to Rolan and Aloha Hall, and was a Valentine sweetheart from then on.
Sylvia grew up in her very young years as a sheepherders daughter and was always proud of that. She had a mother that taught her so much that she needed to know to become the best Mom we could have.
When she was 16, she met Dee Ray Bailey, who would become her eternal companion. That earthly companionship lasted 60 years and 3 days, a feat they were very proud of. They were blessed with six children, Thom, Trever, Trenton, Tory, Tate and Trista, along with their companions, 29 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. All of this was her pride and joy.
Along with being the best Grandma to her own grandchildren, she ran a daycare in her home for over 45 years, helping to raise over 125 kids in that time frame.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, a very special nephew Micky Hermansen, sister-in-law Kay Hall, and a grandson Aaron Dilworth.
Sylvia’s survived by her loving husband Dee Ray, sons; Thom (Tracy), Trever (Teresa), Trenton (Hollie), Tory (Amber), Tate (Jen), and daughter Trista (Clint), along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Loy, and brothers Bruce and Joe (Debbie), along with her nieces and nephews that she loved like her own.
We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Jeff Swenson for always caring about our mom and to Bobby Ann and Kristy from Intermountain Home Health & Hospice for giving our mom the best care and compassion in her final days.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025, viewing for family and friends will be one-hour prior to the services, at the Heyburn 2nd Ward building, 540 Villa Dr., Heyburn, with burial to follow at the Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements are underway of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
