Obituary for Victor Charles Engkraf
Victor Charles Engkraf, age 91, of Acequia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 9th, 2021, at his home. Vic was born on June 26th, 1929, in Rupert, Idaho. He was the son of Jacob Victor and Bertha Agnes (Schmidt) Engkraf. He received his education in Rupert, Idaho, and graduated from Rupert High School. He attended the University of Idaho in Moscow for one year. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during his adult life. He married Joyce LaRue Mecham in 1950 and together they had seven children: Vicki, Larry, Joanna, Raylene, Cindy, Michael, and Jeanne. They later divorced. He married MaryAnn Grubaugh on August 30, 1986. They were later sealed in the Logan temple on August 24, 1991. Joining their family was MaryAnn's three children: Ian, Autumn and April. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all.
Vic was an extremely hard worker. He was a master of all the trades he ever set out to learn. He used to say that he was a jack of all trades and a master of none. Truly, he was so bright and competent he mastered many professions which were scrutinized by trade inspectors. Quality workmanship was always Vic's standard. To name some of his business endeavors, Vic was known as a master carpenter (residential and commercial), concrete worker, backhoe and farm equipment operator, livestock handler, farmer, and real estate broker. He was also a skilled welder, landscaper, mason, roofer, and harvest truck driver (still active in his 80s).
Vic is survived by his wife, MaryAnn of Acequia, his combined children: Vicki (Fred) Goodwin of Boise, Idaho; Larry (Kerrie) Engkraf of Twin Falls, Idaho; Joanna (Scott) Carter of Mapleton, Utah; Cindy (Kevin) Bird of Springville, Utah; Michael Engkraf of Acequia Idaho; Jeanne (Kevin) McEwan of Ammon Idaho; Ian (Loretta) Grubaugh of Boise Idaho;, Autumn Grubaugh of Acequia Idaho; and April (Troy) Rawlings of Dayton Idaho; 31 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; his siblings, Betty (Ben) Burgess of Vallejo California; Ilene Myers (Richard Myers - deceased) LaHabra California; Anna (Glen) Rogers of Rupert, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Agnes Engkraf, two brothers, Edward George Engkraf and Raymond Joseph Engkraf, and one baby daughter, Raylene Engkraf.
Viewing for family and friends will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at Hansen Mortuary and one hour prior to the Funeral Service at Paul Pine Chapel from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2021 at the Paul Pine Chapel.
