Ernestine Rodriguez

Ernestine Rodriguez, 76, went home with the Lord February 16, 2019 at Cassia Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family at her side. She was born August 4, 1942 to Gilbert  and Adela Gomez in Phoenix, Arizona.  She was the 6th child of 13. She met the love of her life Steven T. Rodriguez in Phoenix 1958 and were married October 11, 1961 and from their union they had eight children Gilbert, Lupe, Steven Jr, Rudy, Mark, Ruth, Paul and Elisabet (Lisa). She is survived by 5 children Steven Jr (Monica) Burley, Rudy (Utah), Mark ( Anna) Nampa, Ruth Barnes (Burley), Paul ( Elisa) Burley 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by the love of her life Steven T. Rodriguez, three children Gibert, Lupe and Lisa, her parents and two sisters. Steven and Ernestine moved to Idaho in 1971 where they resided in Heyburn and Burley area. She was active in her Church and was faithful in her belief in her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend to many and will be missed by all who were impacted by her life.

She enjoyed her life as a wife, mother and grandmother. Her home and heart were always opened to those in need. She was brutally honest because of her love for you and didn't want you to stray away from the path that God intended for you to live. She loved watching  her Soaps and would share with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and by her cooking was a way to serve you, and she insisted on teaching her daughters- in-law to cook for her sons.

A viewing will be Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 6pm-8pm at Hansen Mortuary in Rupert.  Funeral services will be held  at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 at Mountain View Christian Center at 317 27th Street in Burley.  Burial following at Riverview Cemetery in Heyburn.  Arrangements are under the direction of Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary.
