Harvey William Son, Jr. age 50, passed away unexpectedly in Carlin, Nevada on Sunday, September 29, 2019.
Harvey was born on October 26, 1968, in Rupert, Idaho to Harvey and Beverly (Sparks) Son. As the oldest of three, he was the best big brother to Tonya Silva and David Son. Harvey enlisted in the Army Reserves in 1986 and graduated from Minico High School with the Class of 1987.
Throughout Harvey’s life he worked for several employers driving trucks but it was this past year that he became an independent owner operator of Sonshine 68 Enterprises, LLC - A very proud goal achieved in his books. An avid hunter, fisherman, an elaborate cook with his Traeger and smoker, camping, horseshoes and spending every minute he could with family and friends are some of the things he enjoyed and describes our dear beloved companion, dad, brother, uncle and friend.
Harvey is survived by the love of his life Shantell Hollins, his children Megan (Chad) Neubauer, Kirkland Swearingen, Crystal Herrera, Stephen Swearingen, Jordan Son, Briana Son, Lillie Hollins, his sister Tonya (Angel) Silva, brother David (Tracy) Son, brother Jeff (Kasey) Thompson. He is survived by 3 granddaughters, 3 grandsons with 1 granddaughter on the way and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Beverly Son, grandparents Othneil and Margret Son, Clarence and Virginia Sparks, grandson Brandon Herrera, special Uncle Jerry Sparks, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Hansen Mortuary in Rupert, ID. A celebration of life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the home of Gene and Sherry Funk 222 East 200 South in Burley, Idaho.
